Le Leopards de Lafayette

Honestly thought Lafayette would finish better with that construction run, good stuff with a 3 person crew.

Knight Moves

UCF tops out all others in stiffness for 2009...though a bit of luck for the Chivalrous Vatos in Orlando??? (lucky at 0.27"??? uh no.)

UCF’s first place win in the stiffness category was a bit fortunate, Chopra said. A dice roll determines where judges place weights on the bridge. Fortunately, the two weights totaling 2,500 lbs. were placed on the strongest parts of the UCF team’s bridge. That reduced the bridge’s overall aggregate deflection, or the total amount that it moved under the applied load.

So cool we'll call 'em culo! UCF Knights Link here

A large set of NSSBC pictures are up in Flickr thanks to AISC. While the photographer managed to get zero pictures of UC Davis (and some other good ones), it's still got good quality photos.

They say Canadians are slow...

...but 4 builders at 3:46 is pretty damn solid with all that running. The Tikka clan continues it's strong tradition as the Thunderwolves are representing the Great White North.

NSSBC Destination Choices

Hawai'i, New York, Austin, Miami, Portland, Minneapolis??? Any one of these would be nice, but Purdue is just sending me over the top with excitement. Still, close to Chicago and Indy, but we're all gonna spend most of our time at the site.

(yes, it's back....BACK IN BLACK!!!)

fyi, I'm going to say whatever the fuck I want to on here, if I think something's good, lame, bullshit, or whatever, that's what I'm gonna type. It's an opinion, and I encourage all other Steel Bridgers, Officials, Administrators, Casual Onlookers, and whoever else to comment as much as they want to.
